To say I was excited when I heard MvC2 would be released for the Playstation 3 would be a huge understatement. I was one of the few players who never stopped playing the game on the dreamcast and jumped at the thought of online play of this game. Well, now that it is here and has been out for sometime now I feel there are issues with the game that are simply unacceptable…
The main and most disappointing issue I see is with Rage Quiters. If you can release a patch to fix the Cable issue, why can you not release one to fix this issue. This really takes all the fun out of the game and takes away from the online community as a whole. The rage quitting issue has been mentioned time and time again on multiple forums (including your own) and yet nothing has been done to address this issue. It has gotten to the point where I will only play with a group of friends as opposed to matchmaking because the quitters are allowed to roam freely.
Also, how hard would it be to have a feature to record matches online? This is another area that people are interested in and can be seen by the number of videos that have been filmed by camera phones and digital camera’s pointed at a tv screen. Something that would allow users to go back and saved their favorite matches, review devastating beatdowns, and analyze their play style to make adjustments will really help keep this game moving forward in the future.
There are other small issues that would make the game more appealing to fans such as a mode to edit character colors and fix the issue of the music not playing during matches (atleast for me anyway). This PSN release has felt like a beta test for a game that developers ignore all feedback for. I mean really for a game that has been out since 2000, there should be no reason this release should feel as rushed and lacking as it does.
Let me know what else you think should be fixed. Maybe, just maybe if we complain enough something will get done!
