My Fight Stick Upgrades Complete!

by Mike B. on January 14, 2010

madcatzFinally, the parts I ordered to upgrade my fight stick arrived today.  They actually arrived yesterday but I failed to check the mail until today.  Either way I have them and installed them instantly into my fight stick.   The results were noticed immediately.  Improved button reaction time and the joystick no longer gets stuck in certain directions with the washer being removed.

sanwabuttonsI only ordered 6 buttons instead of 8 because that was all they had in stock at the moment.  So I kept two of the better working black buttons and put those as R2 and L2 because those will be used the least.  The sanwa buttons register EVERY command entered which I am very pleased about.  I can now execute all my moves as they were intended.

clearballtopThis is just a side by side photo comparing the joystick balltops.  Not really a performance issue I just think this looks better and helps my stick stand out from the rest.

All in all, it really was not hard at all to perform these upgrades.  Once you have the stick open, it is just a matter of a taking out a couple of screws and popping the buttons out with there push tabs.  If you have a stick that is not working properly and do not mind voiding the warranty, I highly recommend performing these yourself.  You will thank me when you have finished!
