Finally, two full weeks after the XBL community was able to grace their system with MvC2 us PSN users have the same luxury. Let me tell you that last day of waiting was almost unbearable. It started by me hearing a rumor Thursday that the game would be released 6am EST. So I think to myself that’s fine I can wake up early and get my Marvel on, only if it were that easy.
Marvel on the Mind, Even in the Morning
I get up around 8am and immediately check the PSN store and of course, no game. So I checked the message boards again and see an updated message saying check around 5pm EST. 5pm comes and goes with no game in the store. I then decide to call Gamestop and see if I can pick up a copy from them and not have to wait till it hits the PSN store but that also did not work.
After buying the game, well not the game but a box with a “game download voucher” inside I race home to use the code and download my game. But of course you could not download it until it was available for the rest of the world. So I hear I am again waiting for the PSN store to be updated.
PSN Store is FINALLY Updated
Once 6:00 hit, and I mean 6 on the dot I refreshed the store and happily saw the game was NOW AVAILABLE. I let out a sigh of relief and began to download. The first thing I noticed was that the file downloaded a lot faster than the demo and the file was only 6MB. 6MB? The demo was 198 and that only had 6 characters, I know a game with 50+ characters and online play has to be larger than 6MB.
Troubleshooting Your Download
I try and play the game yet to no avail. No I was beginning to truly get upset. I still do not know exactly what the issue is but I do know I was not the only person experiencing problem. After I played around, deleting and re-downloading a few times it FINALLY worked!
A friend online posted this in response to the issue of the game not working, so if anybody else has that issue use this method below.
^^^For that problem….Delete the demo u previously had and re install it for the view downloads menu..It will then show up on your Hard Drive
yeah I deleted my demo first and then went to redeem the s**t… was like wtf when it said demo downloading but it was the full game
All-n-All
The only issue that I have with the game’s online play is every time I try and search for a friendly match the game freezes. I can quick find perfectly fine yet the search feature has never worked for me. Other than that it is great. Once I am able to tear myself away from the game I will download the free one month of Marvel Digital Comics that I received with the game. All in all, it was worth the wait.
